LEVANTO – FRAMURA

Levanto

Levanto, a town of 6,000 inhabitants in the province of La Spezia, is renowned for its sea, beaches, and proximity to the Cinque Terre, making it an ideal destination for tourists and trekking enthusiasts. The Cinque Terre are easily accessible by train or ferry, which departs twice a day. Levanto can be reached by car via the A12 Motorway (Carrodano-Levanto exit) or by train, with a station on the Genoa-Rome line, which is enhanced during the summer months.

Cinque Terre National Park

Our campsite is located just steps away from the Cinque Terre National Park, a paradise where breathtaking landscapes, picturesque villages, and crystal-clear waters await you. Thanks to its strategic position, reaching these wonders is simple and quick, making our campsite the perfect starting point to explore this enchanting corner of Italy.

Main Tourist
Attractions

The main tourist attractions in the town of Levanto are undoubtedly its splendid beaches. From an architectural and cultural point of view, highlights include the Medieval Castle, built to defend the town and still perfectly preserved; the Church of Sant’Andrea, a fine example of 13th-century Ligurian Gothic with its black and white striped façade and a magnificent rose window above the main entrance; the Church of Santa Maria della Costa; and Villa Agnelli, built in the early 1900s on the most beautiful point of the town.

Gastronomy

The local gastronomy is based on the rich variety of fish caught in the gulf, as well as on excellent wines and olive oil from the valley. One dish, in particular, reflects the area’s history and environment: gattafin, a type of ravioli filled with wild greens from the countryside and fried in olive oil. Tradition has it that this dish was a staple for the poorer classes and, in particular, for the quarry workers in the Mesco sandstone caves, where wild herbs are still abundant today.
